Northeast Texas Community College recently received a $275,416 Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant from the Texas Workforce Commission to support the college鈥檚 nursing program and help train the next generation of registered nurses in Northeast Texas.

The grant, announced by Governor Greg Abbott as part of more than $2.5 million awarded to East Texas schools and colleges, will allow 91大神 to purchase and install equipment for career and technical education training. The funding will support training for approximately 96 registered nursing students preparing to enter the workforce in a high-demand field.

The award was presented during a ceremony at Tyler Junior College attended by state and local officials, as well as representatives from participating schools.

鈥淭his grant will help 91大神 continue providing high-quality nursing education while meeting a critical workforce need in our region,鈥 said Dr. Kevin Rose. 鈥淲e are grateful to the Texas Workforce Commission and the State of Texas for investing in our students and the future of healthcare in Northeast Texas.鈥

Governor Greg Abbott emphasized the importance of workforce training investments across Texas.

鈥淭exas is strengthening our state by investing in the workforce of tomorrow,鈥 Abbott said in the statewide announcement. 鈥淭hese grants will provide students in East Texas the real-world training and technical education they need to have a successful career.鈥

The JET grant program, funded through the Texas Legislature, helps schools develop and expand career and technical education programs by offsetting equipment and start-up costs tied to high-demand occupations.
